Na wyprawę do Lichenia Starego udali się w ostatni weekend orlicy starsi Akademii Pogoni. Granatowo-bordowi wzięli udział w silnie obsadzonym turnieju z cyklu Pro-Turnieje Cup, w którym zmierzyli się m.in. z Zagłębiem Lubin, Śląskiem Wrocław czy Lechem Poznań. – Kolejny turniej udowodnił, że nasza praca idzie w dobrym kierunku. Jeśli nie zejdziemy z obranej drogi, w przyszłości może być to czołowy zespół w skali kraju – mówi trener Patryk Florczak.
U podnóży licheńskiego sanktuarium pojawiły się najsilniejsze akademie w Polsce. Swoich reprezentantów wystawiły m.in. kluby z grupy Big Nine – Lech Poznań, Zagłębie Lubin, Śląsk Wrocław, Lechia Gdańsk, ŁKS i oczywiście Pogoń Szczecin. Wśród zaproszonych drużyn znaleźli się również inni przedstawiciele PKO Ekstraklasy i Fortuna I ligi – Wisła Kraków, Widzew Łódź czy Wisła Płock.
Trzydniowy turniej rozpoczął się od rywalizacji w pięciozespołowych grupach. Na tym etapie rozgrywek granatowo-bordowi zmierzyli się Zagłębiem Lubin, Wichrem Kobyłka, AKS-em SMS Łódź oraz AP Reissa Poznań. – Po raz pierwszy graliśmy na takim poziomie w systemie 9 na 9. Dla chłopaków na pewno była to pewna nowość. Szybko jednak przystosowali się do warunków, bardzo dobrze reagowali też na nasze wskazówki i podpowiedzi – opowiada szkoleniowiec Pogoni.
Dobra postawa w pierwszym dniu turnieju sprawiła, że granatowo-bordowi awansowali do grupy złotej, w której toczyła się bezpośrednia rywalizacja o triumf w całych rozgrywkach. Na tym etapie młodzi Portowcy stanęli w szranki m.in. z Lechem Poznań, Śląskiem Wrocław, Wisłą Kraków czy Barca Academy Warszawa. – Z postawy zespołu jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni. Chłopacy zagrali na dużej intensywności, wygrali mnóstwo pojedynków indywidualnych, zbudowali fajne akcje, zdobyli ładne bramki – chwali swoich podopiecznych Patryk Florczak. – Kolejny turniej udowodnił, że nasza praca idzie w dobrym kierunku. Jeśli nie zejdziemy z obranej drogi, w przyszłości może być to czołowy zespół w skali kraju – dodaje.
Granatowo-bordowi do Szczecina wrócili nie tylko z medalami za sukces drużynowy, ale także z nagrodą indywidualną. Najlepszym bramkarzem turnieju wybrany został bowiem goalkeeper Dumy Pomorza, Igor Nawacki. – To już czwarty turniej, z którego Igor wraca z nagrodą dla najlepszego bramkarza. Ogromne słowa uznania należą się przy tej okazji trenerowi bramkarzy – Bartkowi Rogowskiemu – bo dzięki jego codziennej pracy Igor zrobił ogromny postęp – podsumowuje Florczak.
