W stolicy polskich Tatr turniej BellSport Cup Zakopane rozegrała drużyna żaków Akademii. Młodzi Portowcy zmierzyli się z polskimi, ale także zagranicznymi zespołami – Spartą Praga, OGC Nicea czy Spartakiem Trnava. – Górskie przygody, mnóstwo radości i świetnego doświadczenia – to tylko kilka określeń, obrazują ten wyjazd – mówi trener Fajgier.
Turniej zaczął się w piątek od rozegrania fazy grupowej, w której Duma Pomorza zmierzyła się ze Stalą Rzeszów, BFA Wilno, Fablok Chrzanów, Deltą Warszawa oraz Slovanem Bratysława. Świetne rezultaty pozwoliły na awans do sobotniej Złotej Grupy. W niej granatowo-bordowi stanęli naprzeciwko zarówno polskich, jak i zagranicznych drużyn: Śląska Wrocław, Wisły Kraków, ale też OGC Nice, Sparty Praga czy Spartaka Trnava.
– Mecz ze Spartakiem uważam za najlepszy w naszym wykonaniu. Graliśmy go bowiem zaraz po porażce z Niceą. Zespół z Francji, późniejszy triumfator całego turnieju, pokazał nam standardy, do jakich musimy dążyć. Ich kultura gry była na światowym poziomie. Była to dla nas ważna lekcja – zobaczyliśmy, gdzie mamy jeszcze rezerwy do rozwoju – opowiada szkoleniowiec Pogoni.
– Po tym spotkaniu chłopcy byli bardzo przybici. Zdołaliśmy jednak obudzić w nich sportową złość, dzięki czemu kolejne starcia zakończyliśmy zwycięsko. Bardzo dużo tłumaczymy im, że w ich wieku nie ma czegoś takiego jak porażka. Jest tylko nauka i wyciąganie wniosków – zauważa szkoleniowiec Dumy Pomorza.
Ostatniego dnia turnieju na Portowców czekały jeszcze dwa prestiżowe pojedynki. Najpierw granatowo-bordowi zmierzyli się z rumuńskim ACS Tampa Brasov, a na zakończenie po raz kolejny sprawdzili swoją formę na tle aktualnego mistrza Czech – Sparty Praga.
– Chłopaki pokazali mocny charakter. Mimo, że w kilku meczach przegrywali, to ostatecznie potrafili odwrócić ich losy – opowiada Łukasz Fajgier. – Pasja i energia aż biła z naszych zawodników. Dzięki temu ich grę naprawdę dobrze się oglądało – wtóruje mu trener-koordynator Marcin Łazowski, który miał okazję przyglądać się wysiłkom granatowo-bordowych w Zakopanem.
Następnym przystankiem żaków Akademii będzie Licheń Stary. U stóp okazałego sanktuarium młodzi Portowcy rozegrają turniej SuperCup, podczas którego zmierzą się m.in. z Lechem Poznań, Wisłą Kraków, Śląskiem Wrocław czy Rakowem Częstochowa. Wśród zaproszonych drużyn nie zabraknie też zagranicznych gości: Sportingu Lizbona czy triumfatorów BellSport Cup – OGC Nicea.
