Grambow stało się stolicą piłki nożnej dla rocznika 2013. To tam właśnie drużyna U11 rozegrała turniej Metropolregion, mierząc się między innymi z Herthą Berlin, czy też zaprzyjaźnioną ekipą ze stolicy Niemiec – Dynamem Berlin. – W grze chłopców było widać świadomość w drodze do rozwoju. Jest to rzecz, z której jako sztab jesteśmy zadowoleni – mówi trener Patryk Gawron.
Sobotnie rozgrywki w zagranicznym turnieju zaczęły się od pojedynku w systemie „każdy z każdym”. Portowcy zagrali dzięki temu siedem meczów, mierząc się z polskimi i niemieckimi markami. Przeciwnikami Pogoni byli Kotwica Kołobrzeg, Zagłębie Lubin, Dynamo Berlin, Hertha Berlin, Hansa Rostock, Lokomotive Lipsk oraz Metropolregion Talente Team.
– Był to kameralny turniej, ale z uznanymi klubami, dzięki czemu rozgrywki stały na bardzo wysokim poziomie. Cieszy także fakt, że przy takiej obstawie zaszliśmy daleko w całych rozgrywkach – tłumaczy szkoleniowiec.
Następnie młodych Portowców czekały zmagania w fazie pucharowej w której ponownie zmierzyli się z Dynamem Berlin, Lokomotivem Lipsk oraz Hansą Rostock. – „Zawodnicy pokazali ogromne zaangażowanie w każdym meczu, walczyli od pierwszego do ostatniego gwizdka. Nawet przy niekorzystnym wyniku nie było spadku moralnego, a widać było spotęgowaną determinację – zauważa trener Marcin Podlecki.
– Wielkie słowa uznania dla pomysłodawcy turnieju Mario Spiegela oraz dla wszystkich zaangażowanych w organizację, dzięki czemu rozgrywki były dopracowane w najdrobniejszych szczegółach oraz prezentowały wysoki poziom sportowy – dodaje.
Następnym turniejowym przystankiem dla drużyny orlika starszego będzie SALTmine CUP rozgrywany w Wieliczce, gdzie granatowo-bordowa młodzież stanie naprzeciwko FC Porto, Stali Rzeszów czy też Widzewowi Łódź.
